Welcome
The Cost Engineering profession in the space domain is constantly evolving, needing to keep up with new tools and methods. In recent years, the arrival of "new space" has caused a shift from the manufacturing of protoflights to industrialization, mass production, the sending of satellites in large numbers or the sale of services rather than systems.
We are confronted with new practices to ensure the continuity of services. They rely on the multiplication of satellites rather than on their individual reliability.
The faster/cheaper which had shown its limits in the 2000s becomes better thanks to recurrence and experience.
So many changes to take into account in our cost estimates.
This conference is to facilitate the exchange of best practices, methods, trends and lessons learned within the cost engineering community, giving opportunity to participants to demonstrate and share their work through presentations (and optional papers) on the thematics detailed on the call for abstracts.
This year we propose a student poster challenge targetting students between the ages of 18 and 30, to propose project ideas related to the space sector and cost engineering. This challenge will be the subject of later newsletter communication beginning of April.
The conference will take place in October, on the 3rd and 4th am, with oral presentations interspersed with breaks for discussion. The conference will be held in person and in english. A limited number of table-top booths for software demonstration and commercial will be available.
Registration includes lunches on Thursday and Friday, and a cocktail reception on Thursday evening. Further details will be provided on registration.
